As I have been thinking so much about Mary this week, I found myself
wondering about her as a child.
As a young woman.
I found this painting depicting Mary as a child with her mother Saint Anne
and thought it was so beautiful I wanted to share this with all of you
for Day 9 .

I love the way you think! Yes, what was her childhood like? Love the picture! :)
ReplyDeleteI had similar thoughts this week though I never followed through on them. St. Anne is a wonderful saint to look up to for guidance and comfort.
ReplyDeleteOh this is very nice. I think we are thinking of Mary more this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a nice picture. You know, I never think about Mary really. I just know I like the Virgin of Guadalupe pictures so much and am thinking how few pictures we have of great women and perhaps the Virgin pictures represent the greatness of all women and things like her aura add to the special uniqueness of women.
ReplyDeleteVery cool. I guess she had to have been a child at some point. She must have been good since the Most High chose her for the Son of God. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletePeace
I often wonder about Mary as a child, teenager and also menopausal woman. this is a beautiful picture
ReplyDeleteOh I love this. St. Anne was my Confirmation saint name. I love the story of Anne.

the wee little hands clapping together...oh wait, praying. but the sweet little face i just can't stop seeing her clapping in glee! (please say she had an easy joyful childhood!)
ReplyDeleteThis is a side of Mary we often forget: her childhood. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteMary the Wonder
Mary was just a girl still when she gave birth to Jesus. I'm not sure I would have reacted as gracefully if the angel came to me. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this or any like it, i sometimes need to think more of the human side!
ReplyDeleteWe are certainly getting an education from this week's research! Thank you for this charming image.
