Bringing in the last of Summer................

GATHERING IS GOOD...........................

Herbs  hanging and drying.........................

Blackberries and mulberries brewing into a  liqueur........

Marigold seeds drying .....for next years planting

The ever present zucchini.................
We have been having lots of chicken, garlic and zucchini pizza!!
Check out her dough recipe.......if you need one. 

Garlic ready to be planted for next years crop......................

And lots of corn!!
Not from our garden, from the farmer down the road.

LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!

In between all this country mouse thing, I did manage to get out for a bit
and "gathered" this..................

I have a love for textiles and these from India
are high on my list!!!

  5. Cutting into this georgeous piece is going to be hard. But you are not going to destroy it, you are just going to turn over a new leaf for it and make it even more stunning and beautiful!

  7. What a nice haul of garden goodies. It's hard to believe summer is over. What the future project with the quilt? A Bag? I'm also a big fan of Indian or american crazy quilts.

  9. LOVE the Indian quilt too, would be a hard one to cut up, so unusual...I LUV the flavor of mulberries, I finally got a tree that fruits growing in my field and the moron on the mower cut it down, it was such great habitat for the blackbirds etc.

    Gonna have to check out that pizza recipe and garlic for next years garden, this years' was such a miserable failure...the planning is already in the works, now that I have a tiller..weeeeee...

  11. I love your harvest pictures and all that you're doing with the spoils...especially the liqueurs! I used to pick blackberries near Sedona each year and make jam...love your idea better! Great quilt!!!
